Argentina

#1. Argentina is undoubtedly the most successful Copa America Team with 15 Titles to their name. Therefore, they take the top spot on our list. They became the South American Championship Winners for the first time in 1921. However, their true reign as South American champions started in the late 1920s when they won three titles in 1925, 1927, and 1929.

Unfortunately, during the next decade, Argentina managed to have only one South American Championship title in 1937. However, Argentina came back stronger in the 1940s and won the title four times in 1941, 1945, 1946, and 1947.

The 1950s also were a successful campaign for Argentina when they won the South American Championship three times in 1955, 1957, and 1959. However, soon after that Argentina lost their way to the glory and could not win a Copa America title for the next thirty years.

Argentina again became the Copa America champions for the 13th time in 1991. Two years later, they successfully defended Copa America title in 1993. However,  Argentina could not win the Copa America title for the next two decades.
