Just In! PCB has announced that Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Rizwan have tested Positive for Covid-19 among 10 other cricketers ahead of England Tour. Pakistan Cricket Team is scheduled to leave for England on 28th June. Despite this breaking news! the tour is pretty much on track. Pakistan Cricket Board issued a press release on Corona Virus test, after three cricketers including Haider Ali, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan had tested positive for Covid -19 Yesterday.

Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz are among the ten players who have screened positive with the Corona Virus. Malang Ali a Team Support Personal is also among the players who have tested positive for the virus.
PCB also said that Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Iftikhar Ahmad, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Sohail Khan, and Yasir Shah have tested negative for the Corona Virus.
In addition, Mansoor Rana (manager), Misbah-ul-Haq (head coach), Shahid Aslam (assistant to head coach), Younis Khan (batting coach), Mushtaq Ahmed (spin bowling coach), Abdul Majeed (fielding coach), Talha Butt (team analyst), Yasir Malik (strength and conditioning coach), Dr Sohail Saleem (team doctor), Lt Col (retd) Usman Riffat (security manager) and Raza Kitchlew (media and digital content manager) also tested negative for the virus. Whereas, Shoaib Malik, Cliffe Deacon and Waqar Younis are yet to be screened for the virus.
“The tour is very much on track, squad will depart as per schedule on 28th. Fortunately, all first-choice red-ball players, barring Rizwan, are negative, which means they can start training immediately after they are tested & given all clear when they arrive in UK,” said Wasim Khan PCB CEO.
Players and support staff who tested positive will observe self-isolation. They will remain under monitoring of PCB medical panel, as soon they complete minimum quarantine. They will undergo further testing and after their two tests are negative, they will be flown to UK on commercial airline.
Despite 10 players and one management member being tested positive, team will proceed as planned. Those who tested negative, will assemble in Lahore on 24 June and will undergo second round of testing on 25 June and those who test negative on 25 June, will depart for England.
So, it is pretty much to safe to say that, Pakistan Tour of England 2020 is still on cards and soon we will see Pakistan Cricket team in action. Pakistan is all set to travel for England from 28th June 2020 and England will host three tests and three T20 matches in this tour for Pakistan.
