Just In: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin in October 2022. The atmosphere is heating up as the contestants work hard to give their last forms to their preparations. Pakistan’s top speed skater, Haris Rauf, recently spoke about the competition’s preparations.
Haris stated in the post-match interview during the fifth T20I against England, “The contest between Pakistan and India is usually a high-pressure competition. But no matter who the opponent is, the situation is always high-pressure. I was under a lot of strain at the previous World Cup. However, I didn’t notice it as much during the recently finished Asia Cup because I was determined to perform at my peak.
“I am aware that if I give it my all, they won’t be able to easily play me. I’m quite thrilled about the forthcoming World Cup game versus India because it will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium. It is my home ground since I have played cricket on this surface frequently with the Melbourne Stars, and I am familiar with the playing environment there, he added.
It is pertinent to mention that the arch-rivals India and Pakistan will lock horns in the World Cup on October 23 in Melbourne. As they faced off twice in the recently finished Asia Cup, it will be the third time this year that the two teams square off in a major cricket event.
Men in Blue defeated Baber-led Pakistan in the group round of the Asia Cup, but Pakistan avenged its earlier loss by defeating them in the Super 4 stages and eliminating them from the competition as well. However, both teams are now committed to deliver their level-best performances during the upcoming clash of 2022 World Cup.
