Just In: South Africa’s star pacer Kagiso Rabada misses out on the upcoming T20 series against Ireland due to a fatal Ankle Injury. It is an alarming situation for Proteas as Rabada’s injury occurred at the time: when two main Cricketing Events, World Test Championship and T20 World Cup are around the corner, and the team needs him the most.

South Africa has ended up their successful series against England, and the performance of Rabada remained eye-catching throughout the series. Proteas seized the series by 2-1, and now they are buckling up to take on Ireland.

Proteas are scheduled to play 3-match Test series against England. However, before the start of that series, they will play 3-T20Is against Ireland. The 1st T20 match between Ireland vs South Africa will be played on 3rd August 2022 at Bristol’s County Ground.

Although Ireland is a comparatively less experienced and tough cricketing side for South Africa however, the Irish side holds the capability to take down any other cricketing side on their day. Proteas would miss the presence of Rabada if series results went against them.

Kagiso Rabada sustained Ankle Injury during a match against England. The Medical Board examined his injury and advised the pacer to skip the Ireland series. Rabada will be available for the team during the Test series against England, scheduled later this month.

South Africa T20I squad: David Miller (c), Gerald Coetzee, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Rilee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Rassie van der Dussen.
