Just In! Pakistani T20 Cricketer Umar Akmal has been banned by PCB for three years from all type of cricket. Umar Akmal was suspiciously suspended by PCB in the start of PSL 2020 and Pakistan Cricket Board formed an inquiry of criminal charges against Umar Akmal. Now, the Chairman of Disciplinary Panel, Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan has banned Umar Akmal for three years from all type of cricket. It seems like, the career of talented Umar Akmal is over. Cricket fans will no longer see Umar Akmal playing for Pakistan in near fufture.
Umar Akmal has been a hot topic for many of the cricket fans in Pakistan, due to its controversial acts. From getting abused by Former Pakistani Coach Mickey Arthur (as Umar Akmal Claimed) to asking fitness examiner ” What is fat”. From his false English memes to his controversial comments, it seems like Umar Akmal has not learned the lesson that ” Cricket is a Gentleman’s Game”.
The inquiry Commission charged Umar Akmal for two breaches of PCB’s anti corruption code. These violations relate to Umar Akmal not approaching PCB after getting contacted by the corrupt match fixers. PCB formally revealed the decision on Monday morning. Umar Akmal can still opt to appeal against the verdict as per the clause 37 of PCB Constitution.

While speaking to press PCB Director Anti-Corruption and Security, Lt Col Asif Mahmood said:
“The PCB doesn’t take any pleasure in seeing a promising international cricketer being declared ineligible for three years on corruption charges, but this is once again a timely reminder to all who think they can get away by breaching the anti-corruption code,”
“The anti-corruption unit regularly holds education seminars and refresher courses at all levels to remind all professional cricketers of their obligations and responsibilities. And even then if some cricketers decide to take the Code in their hands, then this is how things will pan out.
“I request all professional cricketers to stay away from the menace of corruption and immediately inform relevant authorities as soon as they are approached. This is in their as well as their teams’ and country’s best interest.”
Nevertheless It is a great loss for Pakistani Cricket fans who loved to watch Umar Akmal in action.
