Just In! Test Cricket returns to Pakistan after 10 years, as Sri Lanka decide to visit Pakistan in December. Sri Lanka will be playing a series of two test match against Pakistan from 11 to 23 December. This is a great news for the Pakistani cricket fans who were eagerly waiting for return of test cricket.
Following the terrorist attacks in 2009 at Lahore, which injured Sri Lankan players, foreign teams were reluctant to visit Pakistan in the coming years. However, Pakistan have come through the grief and they have come strong. In the recent years, Security Conditions have been improved in Pakistan. In addition, Pakistan have also hosted PSL knockout matches in 2017 and 2018. But, Now all the PSL 2020 matches will be held in Pakistan.
Prior to this visit in December, Sri Lanka have toured Pakistan for T20 and ODI series. Though, ten Sri Lankan cricketers refused to visit Pakistan, fearing security concerns, but Sri Lanka successfully visited Pakistan with a T20 series victory.
Now, Sri Lankan Cricket Board have agreed to visit Pakistan once again to play a series of Two test matches. This will record the return of Test Cricket in Pakistan after ten years. Pakistan Cricket fans are excited for this series as well.
Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan 2019 Schedule:
- 1st Test Match Sri Lanka vs Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 11 to 15 December
- 2nd Test Match Sri Lanka vs Pakistan at National Stadium, Karachi from 19 to 23 December.
