1. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels [372 runs for 2nd Wicket]

Chris Gayle is one of the greatest ODI batsman from West Indies in history and there is no way he cannot make out on our countdown. He along with Marlon scored 372 runs for the 2nd wicket against Zimbabwe in the 15th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.  The match took place at Manuka Oval, Canberra on 24th February 2015. This now stands as the highest partnership in ODI Cricket history.

One of the greatest hard hitters of all time Chris Gayle scored massive 215 runs on 147 balls. His innings also included 16 mighty sixes and 10 classis boundaries. Whereas, his partner Marlon Samuels collected 133 runs on 156 balls in the partnership. Samuels innings also included three sixes and 16 boundaries. As a result, West Indies won the mat by 73 runs. The match took place at Dublin Cricket Stadium on 5 May 2019. This partnership between Jhon Campbell and Shai Hope now stands as the 2nd Highest Partnership for any wicket in ODI cricket history.

Jhon Campbell recorded 179 runs in the partnership while facing 137 balls. His innings also included six sixes and 15 boundaries. Whereas, his partner Shai Hope collected 170 runs on 152 balls. Hope’s innings also included two sixes and 22 boundaries. As a result, West Indies won the match by 196 runs against Ireland. In New Zealand tour of India 1999 cricket series, they together scored 331 runs for the 2nd wicket in the 2nd ODI against the touring team. Sachin remained unbeaten at 186 in the partnership while facing 150 balls. His innings also counted three sixes and 20 boundaries. Whereas, his partner Rahul Dravid collected 153 runs on 153 balls by hitting 2 sixes and 15 boundaries. As a result, India won against New Zealand by 174 runs. They together scored 318 runs for the 2nd wicket against Sri Lanka in the 21st match of ICC Cricket World Cup 1999. The Match took place at County Ground, Taunton on 26th May 1999. This now stands as the 4th highest Partnership in ODI Cricket history.

Saurav Ganguly made 183 runs on 158 balls in the partnership. His innings contained seven glorious sixes and 17 classic boundaries. Whereas, his partner Rahul Dravid scored 145 runs on 129 balls in the match. Rahul’s innings covered one six and 17 beautiful boundaries. As a result, India won against Sri Lanka by 157 runs. In 2018, they scored 304 runs for 1st wicket against Zimbabwe in 4th ODI for Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe 2018 cricket series. The match took place at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo on 20th July 2018. This now stands as the 5th highest ODI Partnership in the history of cricket.

Imamul Haq scored 113 runs on 122 balls in that match. His innings included eight beautiful boundaries. Whereas, his partner Fakhar Zaman recorded the highest individual score in ODI cricket from a Pakistani by scoring 210 runs on just 156 balls. Zaman’s innings involved five huge sixes and 24 classic boundaries. As a result, Pakistan won against Zimbabwe by 244 runs. In 2020, they scored 292 runs for the 1st wicket in the 3rd ODI of Zimbabwe Tour of Bangladesh cricket series. The match took place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on 6th March 2020. This now frames as the 6th highest ODI partnership in history.

Tamim Iqbal collected 128 runs while facing 109 balls in that partnership. His innings included six glorious sixes and seven classic boundaries. Whereas, his partner Liton Das went on to record 176 runs on 143 balls. Liton’s innings covered eight magnificent sixes and 16 boundaries. As a result, Bangladesh won that match by 123 runs. And, Liton Das was announced Man of the Match for his performance with the bat.

It was the 5th ODI match in Sri Lanka tour of England 2006 cricket series that took place at Headingly Cricket ground, Leads on 1st July 2006. This now stands as the 7th highest partnership in ODI history.

Opener Upul Tharanga scored 109 runs on 102 balls in that match. His innings included one six and 14 boundaries. Whereas, his partner Sanath Jayasuria smashed 152 runs on just 99 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 20 classic boundaries. As a result, Sri Lanka won the match by 8 wickets. And, Sanath Jayasuria was declared Man of the Match for his blistering performance in the match.

David Warnver scratched 179 runs on 128 balls in the match. His innings marked five glorious sixes and 19 classic boundaries. Whereas, his partner Travis Head scored 128 runs while facing 137 balls. Travis’ innings also included three sixes and nine fours. As a result, Australia won against Pakistan by 57 runs. And, David Warner was announced Man of the Match for his glorious batting.

The Match took place at De Beers Diamond Oval, Kimberley on 15th October 2017. This now holds as the 9th highest Partnership in ODI history.

Quinton De Cock scored 168 runs on 145 balls in the match. His innings included two sixes and 21 boundaries. Whereas, his batting partner Hashim Amla succeeded to collect 110 runs out of 112 balls by hitting eight fours. As a result, South Africa won the match against Bangladesh by 10 wickets. And, Quinton De Cock received Man of the Match Award for his stunning performance with the bat.

They together scored 282 runs for 1st wicket against Zimbabwe in the 26th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The Group match took place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on 10th March 2011. This partnership now stands as the 10th highest in ODI cricket history.

Upul Tharanga collected 133 runs on 141 balls in the match. His innings marked 17 beautiful boundaries. Whereas, his partner and Star Sri Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan gathered 144 runs on 131 balls by hitting one sixes and 16 boundaries. As a result, Sri Lanka won the match by 139 runs. And, Tillakaratne Dilshan was awarded Man of the Match for his magnificent innings.
